LAND AREA, TOPOGRAPHY and CLIMATE
Laua-an has a total land area of 20,780 hectares representing 8.24% and 9.46% for lowland. The
topography of the municipality is characterized by rolling hills and mountains in the interior and fertile plains and valleys
along the coast.
Dry season usually occurs from the month of December to May and wet season
from the month of June to November. The average rainfall is 364.36mm.
TRANSPORTATION and COMMUNICATION
There are two cellular sites present accomodating mobile phone users (Smart & Globe), a telegraph
office owned by Bureau of Telecommunications and a post office operated by the Bureau of Postal Corporation.
EDUCATION and RELIGION
Laua-an has 10 complete elementary schools and 38 Dat Care Centers.
It has two secondary schools with one as Division's Center for Academic Execellence. There is a Technical Education and Skills
Development Authority.
Lauan-ons are religious people composing almost nine religious sectors within
the municipality.
INFRASTUCTURE and ELECTRICITY
Laua-an has a total of: 76.065 km. of Barangay roads and 11.125 km. of national roads.
The Municipality has 1 Bailey bridge along provincial roal and 6 along
national roads with aggregate length of 541.25 lineal meters.
Ninety percent of barangays have access
to electricity energized by ANTECO and about 85% have television with 35% connected to cable TVS.
